All Nature Sings
“The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.” Psalm 19:1
Did you know that the planets and stars actually sing? Science has discovered the “music” of the heavens made by the electronic vibrations of the planets, moons, rings, and stars. Each planet makes a unique sound that can be detected using specially designed instruments developed by NASA. Check it out on YouTube sometime. I think you will find it quite fascinating.
The Bible says all of creation is continually proclaiming God’s glory. Here on planet Earth, from the fiercest thunderstorm to the most gentle breeze, creation is ceaselessly telling a story. Every microscopic organism and every planet in the solar system is shouting, “God is here.”
“Day after day,” the psalmist says, “they (the heavens) continue to speak; night after night they make him known.” If the heavens proclaim the glory of God, how much more should we who are made in his image proclaim his glory?
When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen. This upset the religious leaders. “Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!” they told Jesus, but Jesus said, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would cry out in praise!”
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want a bunch of stones doing my job.
