Finding New Strength
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
Life is a marathon, not a sprint. When we are running the race of life, we often burn out because we are trying to sprint a marathon. Sprint runners turn the gas all the way up. They hit life hard and head on, but the finish line is miles away and they find that they can’t keep up the pace. They trust in their own strength and they soon grow weary.
Life’s marathon runners are methodical. They pace themselves. They run strategically and intentionally. They trust in the Lord, and when the race gets difficult or even impossible, they find new strength. They soar high on wings like eagles. They run without growing weary.
Trusting in the Lord is the key to a successful race. When you trust in the Lord, you find his purposes in every high and low. You know that he hears you when you cry out to him, that he sees your tears, that he celebrates your victories, that he knows your name. When you lean into him as you run the race of life, you will not grow faint or weary, but you will soar as you find strength that you didn’t even know was possible.
