He Will Rejoice Over You

"The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine a mighty warrior dressed for battle. Does he wield his sword and shield? Now imagine that rugged warrior leaning over the cradle of a tiny little baby, his eyes taking in every feature, his heart filled with love and compassion. He vows to protect and defend the helpless little baby because that baby is his child. He watches with delight as the sleepy little baby fades into a gentle slumber. The mighty warrior, filled with joy begins to sing. Ever so sweetly he rejoices over his child with singing.

Now imagine that child is you. God, the Mighty Warrior rejoices over you with singing. Maybe you struggle to feel like you are someone worthy of singing over, but God sees you as worthy because you belong to him. You are his child. He is with you. He delights in you. Rest in Him and listen closely and he rejoices over you with singing.
