Never Alone

“I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night— but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.” Psalm 139:7-12

Omnipresent. It’s an English word rarely used in everyday conversation. It simply means present everywhere. God is omnipresent. There is no where we can go that He is not already there. Psalm 139 beautifully illustrates this.

There is no place I can go that God is not already present - whether heaven or the grave, darkness or light. He was there in my past. He will be there in my future. Nothing escapes His watchful eye. The omnipresent God is with me in every trial and triumph, every success and failure, every joy and sorrow. No matter what life throws at me God’s hand will be there to guide me and His strength will support me. What comfort and encouragement these words bring!
