Strong and Immovable

“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless." 1 Corinthians 15:58

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get weary in the battle. I feel like I am finally taking a step forward and then end up taking two steps back. It’s in those times that the words of this verse hit me like a brick.

“Be strong and immovable.”

Be strong in the face of change. Be strong when the unexpected happens. Be strong when the news comes. Be strong in the waiting. Don’t be moved. Don’t move off your position as an overcomer in Christ. Don’t let emotions move you. Emotions are bound to change. Remember, the battle is not yours, but God’s (2 Chron. 20:15).

“Always work enthusiastically for the Lord.”

Always. Even when plans change. Even when it’s not convenient. Even when it will cost you something. Even when you have to hold your tongue. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord. Give yourself fully. Always.

“For you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”

Not a moment is wasted. God sees your tears, your pain. He knows the depths of your heart. Whatever you do for Him has value. In all that you do, work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people (Ephesians 6:7). It won’t go unnoticed. It’s never useless

Next time you find yourself in a battle, remember these words. Take courage, my friend. Your labor is not in vain. Be strong and immovable.
