Unlimited Resources
“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.” Ephesians 3:16
I live in America. I’ve often said that I don’t take my freedoms as an American for granted, but what about the privileges I enjoy as a citizen of this great nation? If you had asked me pre-2020, I would have told you that I don’t take those for granted either, but I would have been wrong.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, American citizens could walk into the supermarket and find what seemed to us like an unlimited supply of pretty much anything we were looking for. Unless you lived through the Great Depression, you had no frame of reference for the word “shortage.” Granted, the shortage of toilet paper was primarily due to the panic that ensued, but the unlimited resources of goods we once enjoyed suddenly had a limit. And we felt it, if even for a short period of time.
To think that God’s resources are unlimited is quite something to ponder. He never runs out of patience. His shelves are always stocked with tender mercies and love. There is always a full supply of His power. And just when you think you have exhausted His grace, more grace falls in behind.
What a beautiful and powerful prayer Paul prays for the Ephesians! “That from his glorious, unlimited resources, he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.”
Through His Spirit, may God empower you as well with inner strength from His
glorious,
unlimited
resources.
Amen.
