Christ in You

“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

I don’t know if you believe in love at first sight, but I met my husband when I was barely 17 years old and I can honestly say that I loved him almost instantly. Somehow I knew that I would spend the rest of my life with him. We were married a year later and will soon celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary.

How can you fall so quickly in love with someone you barely know? Although my husband is undoubtedly an attractive and charming man, I think there was something deeper to him that drew me in. He had something I did not have at the time. He had a relationship with the true and living God. According to Galatians, Christ was living in him. I saw in him something I had seen in no other. The life of Christ in him was gently pointing me to Jesus.

When I finally surrendered my heart to Christ, the Bible says that it’s no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. Even though the me that you are seeing is indeed me, I now live my life by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. And if I’m doing it right, others will be drawn in.

It was through my husband that I came to know the true and living God. I am so thankful for that. If you will allow Christ in you to live through you, others will be drawn in and you too can gently point them to Him.
