“And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.” Colossians 3:17
The phrase “What would Jesus do?” became popular in the United States in the late 1800s after the widely read book by Charles Sheldon entitled, “In His Steps” (subtitled “What Would Jesus Do”) was published. The phrase, often represented by the acronym WWJD had a resurgence in the US and elsewhere in the 1990s and became popular on bracelets and other items as a reminder for Christ-followers to act in a manner that would demonstrate the love of Jesus.
While the term WWJD became somewhat of a novelty, the truth for which is stands remains steadfast. Colossians says that whatever we do or say should be done in a matter that represents the Lord Jesus. We should live our lives in a manner that would draw others into His presence and make them curious about the God we love and serve.
