His Faithful Love

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1

Unmerited.

Undeserved.

Unconditional. 

These are all words that describe the love that God has for us. The Psalmist describes God’s love as faithful. Faithful means to be loyal, steadfast, and unwavering. God is unwavering in His love for us.

There is absolutely nothing you could do for God to love you more. You will never be more loved than you are right now. God is not waiting for you to get your act together or prove that you are worthy of His love. God loves you by choice. His love is unmerited.

You and I do not have to satisfy certain conditions or requirements to be loved by God. His love is vast and far-reaching. God spoke to Jeremiah, “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.” (Jer. 1:5). Like Jeremiah, you were not a surprise to God. He knew what He was getting with you before you were ever born. He chose to love you, even though you don’t deserve it. God’s love is undeserved. 

There is not a list of conditions that must be met before God will love you. If there was, I suspect we would blow every one of them! God’s love is not a list of do’s and don’ts. God’s love for you is unconditional.

God’s love accepts us without reserve. His love never lets us go. Oh, my friend! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His faithful love endures forever.
