An Invitation

“Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink—even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk—it’s all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food.” Isaiah 55:1-2

The divine summons to come and drink is not just for the elite. God’s invitation for life-sustaining food and drink is extended to all. “Is anyone thirsty?” Whether you’re male or female, whether you’ve kept all the rules or broken every one of them, no matter what side of the tracks you grew up on, whether you have great wealth or have no money at all, no matter who you are—God Himself is inviting you to come. Come and sit at His table, eat what is good. Enjoy the finest food—his great mercy, his forgiveness, and His everlasting covenant of unfailing love.
